CML and pregnancy

Hi all

I just wanted to post my news - having been diagnosed in January 2005, I am pleased to say I am now 12 weeks pregnant with our first baby. When I was diagnosed, one of my big concerns was whether I would ever be able to start a family, so I wanted to let anyone in the same position know that it is possible! I started on Glivec and I am now on interferon, with the intention of going back to Glivec once my baby is born.

Hope everyone is doing well,
Anna

Thats great news  :)

We are on big time babywatch as ours is due in just over 2 weeks

Rob

Dear Anna,

many congratulations and thank you for sharing this as it will encourage other women that it is possible to have children by changing therapy from TKI to Interferon for the duration of the pregnancy.

Best wishes,

Sandy

Dear Rob...... congratulations to you too and good luck to you and your partner for the upcoming birth of your baby.

Sandy

Thanks Sandy - so far so good and a lot less stress than the first that ended up in an emergency cesarian

Of years yet, my results aren't zero the are .023% have remained the
Same for the last 3 times I'm on 600mg glivec dosage. What were your
Results? Did u have to be zero? Did u do ivf? How old r u if u don't mind
Me asking, sorry so many questions as I haven't been able to find much
Info.
Thanks patrice

Hi Patrice

Sorry, just noticed your questions! I am 36 years old, was dx when I was 31. I did have several cycles of IVF but was not successful, this pregnancy was all natural, which was a lovely surprise! I was (and still am) at zero.

Good luck and if you have any more questioons, let me know.

Anna

great news as i'm 24. and dont feel anywhere near that stage, but hate the thought of it not being a possibility. very encouraging news. congratulations and i hope it all goes well.
