Northern Centre for Cancer Care
Type:
We are the major tertiary referral centre and largest provider of specialist clinical haematology healthcare for adults in the North East of England. Our services are based at both the Freeman Hospital and the Royal Victoria Infirmary where we offer an extensive range of investigations for the diagnosis and treatment of both non-cancerous and cancerous blood conditions. We also provide support and advice in the community for people with bleeding related disorders.
Consultation and treatment is available to anybody who lives in and around the North East of England and highly specialist care can also be offered to those with more complex conditions from anywhere in the UK. We treat approximately 1000 new patients every year and many more patients come to see us regularly for longer term treatments.
Our nationally recognised diagnostic and research laboratories and our extensive links with the Universities of Newcastle and Northumbria, including undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, are vital to providing a first class clinical service.
