Sensitive Teeth

I was wondering if anyone has suffered with sensitive teeth, especially those post transplant?

I am not sensitive to hot and cold but to starchy foods and certain meat and vegetables; it is making eating very difficult. The hospital have never heard of it, the dentist doesn't know how to solve it and I am getting very frustrated by it. I had my transplant back in 2009 and am doing very well except for this.

I've tried several sensitive and pro enamel tooth pastes but they don't help; the dentist covered my teeth with a disgusting paste but that didn't help. I'm running out of ideas so open to suggestions.

I had my transplant about the same sort of time as you. I have pretty much suffered with
sensitive teath since. It is a lot better than it was, I put the improvement down to
Colgates Sensitive tooth paste, certainly has not cured it but I no longer hit the roof
when eating hot and cold foods. Does seem to react to various foods not just hot and cold.

Did mention this to doc's and like quite a few things, I tend to just get a bit of a
blank look!!!!

Like you I am doing really well, just a couple of niggles with my eyes and teeth.

All the best

Michael

I use a homeopathic mouthwash which seems to keep this at bay. I think we all suffer at some point with this- due to age as well as effects from chemotherapy. I rub my gums with a few drops of hypericum combined with calendula (called HyperCal)in small glass of warm water then use what's left as a mouthwash -you can order this over the phone from Ainsworths Homeopathic Pharmacy in London- works well on keeping my mouth/teeth/gums pretty healthy and pain free.

Good to hear you are both doing well post transplant.
