Dizziness and vertigo

Dear All,

david is already 7 years and a half in Glivec, and he is doing still ok, however, recently he is experiencing some side-effects, mostly related to dizziness.
Last week, his heart starts hurting him, but his cardiologist was not worried and told us that seems the problem is more neurological perhaps.
I have several questions:
-is there any prescribed drug for vertigo he may take while in glivec? (most of them seems interacting with Glivec).
- is there any natural/home remedie I can prepare for him?
- is any of you experiencing that the effect is related to the absence of phisycal effort? (usually he likes running, and stays quite well when he practices sport. But lately he had a knee problem and stop the sport. Then many side-effects are starting to appear. Not sure there is a relation).

Hi Carmen,

I am not sure if this is relevant but there was an article in the DM about possible causes of dizziness- my parents told me about it and when I saw your post I looked it up. Ear infection can cause a condition called Labyrinthitis.... see here:

I do know of one member of this forum who has suffered quite debilitating dizziness so I am hoping he may see this post. There is a support group for those who suffer over the longer term.

Re: natural remedies. I think he may find some benefit from going down this route- especially as there is not much allopathic doctors seem to offer. It depends on the individual what system of natural medicine you choose. Acupuncture/acupressure may well be an answer for your husband, especially as he is also suffering from joint problems.
I suggest he also supplement with 1500mg glucosamine per day. This is extremely effective- at least for me and some others on this forum.
I think you are right to suspect the lack of exercise as a possible cause of the worsening of side effects.

Hope you find some of this helpful.

Hello, i feel dizzy some times myself, and its usually related to my tense shoulders. That is why i do physical therapy a few times pr month. (Massage and some exercises) This really helps for me.

Good luck :)
