You are here

just saying Hi.

Just joined the website today and have been dealing with CML for 10 years.  Walking a fence on an upcoming back surgery that will take me off Gleevec for a while.  Not really thrilled with the idea of stopping this med.  Any body who has been down this road, I would appreciate your opinion.

Hi thanks for the post. Having been on treatment is I assume your PCR results are hopefully good and low. If they are and have been for awhile at no reason to fear coming off the meds, indeed, you may find you can stay off them with regular pcr and care, all dependant on the numbers you are at

Thanks for the reply.  My numbers have been good or better,  I have been working at it for a long time.  This surgery will be spinal and very invasive, I will have to give a pint or two of my own blood.   I am trying to control my pain with injections and some medications, but I can only go so far.  I will have to do more research into this and recovery, it won't be easy.
