Thread "subscriptions" and notifications

We've updated the CML Support forum with a new feature that makes it easier for you to know when someone has replied to a thread you are interested in.

At the bottom of each page, you will see a button labeled "Subscribe to updates". If you click on that button, you will get an email notification when the thread is updated. If you no longer want to receive updates, click the button again (which is not labeled "Unsubscribe from updates").

When you create a new thread, you will be automatically subscribed to updates. You can turn this off by clicking on the button that is labeled "Unsubscribe from updates" after creating the thread.

This is a new feature, so may come with some foibles. If you notice any problems, please reply to this message and let us know.

Thanks,
David.

Thank you, David, I have tried several browsers on my desktop computer . It is actually a first class search engine with a valuable catalogue of interesting information.

Error
The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

I'll get it sorted. Looks like something broke when we introduced some new features.

Thanks for alerting me. I wouldn't have spotted it myself any time soon.

David

Search should be fixed now.

Please note that it might operate slowly for a little while, as the search function needs to rebuild it's index. So bear with us for a short while as the search results page takes longer to load than usual.

David.

Thank you, David. It is working again. This forum does work extremely well. The only oddity is that on my system the text box is surrounded by a security blue box meaning that I cannot voice dictate directly into the box. As I said before, the search facility is very effective.

Hmm, that's not intentional. I'm not sure what could be causing that but I will have a bit of a dig and see if we can do something about it.

PS. What software are you using for the dictation?

David.

Hello David. I am using Dragon Naturally Speaking. Please, do not spend your valuable time on this since I have a good workaround and it is probably a security measure in my own system that is making the dictation box more secure. I will try to establish whether it is Kaspersky that is intervening. Best wishes Stephen.

David, I have worked this out. It is Kaspersky which is introducing the security layer around the dictation box. But that is not actually the problem. If I disable rich text then Dragon indicates that this is a box into which I can dictate directly. Interestingly, the box is then also compatible with Grammarly.

My hand use is severely limited by osteoarthritis. I use a range of computer tools that enable me to continue to work. I did not previously think about disabling rich text.

Anyway, it is good to know that this forum is Dragon compatible.

Thank you for your help, Stephen

Great - I'm pleased you found a way to get it to work for you.

David.

David, this is a major improvement and VERY helpful.

I am a newbie, have never posted, but visited the forum few times. Still trying to find my way around.

Many thanks.
