Hi there! I have ibs syndrome and some days I have dioiria. Does anyone know how match time needs the body to absorbe the pill.? I take sprycel!I remember that my doctor told me that this not an issue because the body absorves dasadinib before the large intestine. ...I am afraid if my body expel dasadinib when I have dioiria near at the time that I took the pill...

IBS is a condition affecting the large intestine. Dasatinib behaves similar to a salt in the body in how it is absorbed, primarily in the upper small intestine. Dasatinib absorbs very quickly and completely with most pharmacokinetics (area under curve) occurring within 5 hours. In other words, the body absorbs, processes and uses dasatinib within a 3 to 5 hour time frame. Most all remaining dasatnib metabolites (liver leftovers) are cleared from the body within 24 hours through the usual routes.
Chances of pharmo-active Dasatnib "flushing" out of the body due to diarrhea is low. Your doctor is correct.
Hi, I was diagnosed with CML 12 years ago, and doing well in remission. I was unfortunately diagnosed with IBS 2 months ago, and it’s been challenging. Any insight or help would be appreciated.
Hi John, The very first thing that I would recommend is that you cut gluten out of your diet. It is very inflammatory food. Next, cut out processed food. (Especially fast food!) I also would recommend that you start taking a probiotic, the live kind kept refrigerated. I have more recommendations, but those are a few big ones to try.
