Diindolylmethane safety whilst on TKI’s?

Hi friends! Tanya from Australia. Hope yr all going ok. This is for Scuba or anyone who may know anything about it. I am currently on 20mg Dasatinib and have been undetectable for over a year. Am taking Diindolylmethane, a supplement to supposedly assist estrogen and such in the body. It’s also been touted as an anti cancer agent. I have not been able run this by anyone but thought to find out if anyone else has used this and whether it’s a good idea? Was on bio identical hormones as well for chemo induced menopause but they don’t agree with me so thought this DIIM supplement may assist. Any info greatly appreciated:)

Eat broccoli and you will get all you need plus other nutrition broccoli provides. Making sure your vitamin D level is in range (50 - 100 ng/ml) will help maintain proper estrogen in the body as well as provide other anti-cancer benefits.

As Australia is heading into fall and winter - very important you stay on top of your vitamin D levels by taking supplements. D. You get plenty of diindolylmethane from eating your veggies - especially broccoli.

Congratulations on achieving 'undetected' status while on low dose dasatinib!

Thanks Scuba! Are you still on 10mg Dasatinib? The thing is I’ve been taking and have bought heaps of that Diindolylmethane supplement and I just need know it’s safe to take. It gives heaps added energy! Also, what do you think is optimal time to be undetectable in order to consider TFR? Thank you for all your insight,

I take dasatinib 20 mg every other day.

According to M.D. Anderson publications TFR can be tried with 50-50 success at two years and increasing to 55-60% success after 4 years. The minimum before attempting TFR is two years.

Thanks Scuba. Am going to wait 3 plus years and if still undetectable may give it a go. I would like to try your 20mg every other day routine but don’t think Haemotologist would be on board with it. All the best:)
