Shingles Vaccination

Having reached a certain age (!) I have been offered a shingles vaccination. Not sure whether this is a good idea. However I understand that there is now a non-live vaccination which is presumably less of an issue..

Anyone any thoughts on this subject?

Many thanks,

David

Hi David,

The newer one called Shingrix is absolutely fine for a CML patient to take. Presuming that’s what you have been offered, you should take them up on it.

David.

Many thanks David, I have not been informed which vaccine they are offering.

I am guessing that Shingrix is the non-live vaccine….

David

I had the Shingrix ( double dose) vaccine last autumn and it was fine. No side effects. Just check that your surgery knows you need Shingrix
as it may need to be ordered.

Best to all
Chrissie

Thanks Chrissie,

Had the first dose this morning - looking forward (not) to the booster!
