Going Treatment free to try for Pregnancy

Hi,

I had a call with my consultant this morning, we discussed at my appointment last month about going treatment free so I can try for a baby, he had said he was happy for this but wanted to confirm with the specialists at Birmingham first, fast forward to this morning and he called to say they were in agreement and asked me for the date I planned to stop medication. I said I would speak to my partner and agreed to call his secretary to confirm the date once we had discussed, he said he will then put me onto monthly blood tests and bi-monthly calls with him (unless the review of bloods in the middle month flags something).

I asked how long after stopping treatment is it safe to start trying and he said it would take 7 days for the Nilotinib to leave my system but he would suggest waiting a month - but having been told incorrect information by a previous consultant I am keen to do my own research first and came across this page and thought it was worth asking, what have people been told by ref stopping treatment in order to try for pregnancy.

For Reference - I was diagnosed July 2022 (5 months after giving birth to my first child), I was MMR5 by September 2022and have been MMR5 since, so 3 years since diagnosis and 2 months short of 3 years MMR5
