A while ago I asked for advice about a squidgy lump on the white of my eye. After reading your replies I felt it may be a pterygium, as it sounded a bit similar.
The other eye has now developed a similar problem and I have just come back from seeing my Consultant Ophthalmologist.
He is pretty sure they are conjunctival cysts almost certainly caused by fluid retention from the Glivec. Of course he was not familiar with Glivec (or CML) but was definite there was no malignancy there. The aching I felt was almost certainly pressure caused by the excess fluid.
He did say he could remove them (the thought makes me squirm) but as I would be taking the Glivec very long term (I have been on them for over 3 years now) the problem would just recur. He suggested I tell HH wwhen I return in November. He did not think diuretics would help (although I do have quite a lot of fluid retention elsewhere, particular around my eyes with a lot of watering there). I am to have follow up appointments every 4 months now to monitor them.
Food for thought I suppose, has anybody else had similar?( I think Elizabeth commented on something similar, but hers stayed when she came off the Glivec.
Have a great seminar everybody, sorry I can't attend this year.
