Hi Everyone
I've not posted for a while but i have been keeping an eye on you all!!! I was dx Feb 2005 , was on Glivec 400mgs until April this year where it was increased to 600mgs. Was doing well BUT i was at the hospital last week for my check up. All seemed well. Was told by the Doc that a Prof Holyoake from Glasgow was interested in my progress and she would be in touch. He was going to email her that day.
Anyway 2 days later i receive a phone call to say the Prof advised an increase to 800mgs and a letter would follow.
The letter came last Monday it states " my CML genetic status is stable " however " it would be nice to see your genetic level of the Philadelphia chromosone fall even further".
No counts on paper , nothing. I phoned my consultant . He told me i had not too worry " they were just trying to blast it away ".
I was just wondering if any of you could shed any light on this increase for me and whats happening. And what happens if the 800mgs dont do what they expect!!!!
When i asked if they had my latest BMB results the reply was " Yes its still 1 in 200 ".
I hope this makes sense to you all. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again
Elaine H.
