cml and other cancers

can anyone tell me if cml patients are more prone to other cancers? Rob saw the GP about his moles yesterday, has recieved an appointment for the dermatologist in this mornings post, the appointment is for tues 14 nov. I'm sure some of you will empathise with the concern that such a quick appointment brings. Maybe our local hospital is being extra efficient, or the GP extra cautious.

The incidence of malignant melanoma has increased many fold in the general population of the UK in the past ten years or so. Health professionals take no chances with moles that grow or change in any way nowadays, so don't be alarmed at the quick appointment. This is normal. Whether having CML makes one more susceptible to other cancers, I don't know, but perhaps someone else knows the definitive answer?
Anyway, fingers crossed for Rob on Tuesday, I'm sure he'll be fine.

Hey Sal,
How did Rob get on with the Dermatologist? Don't be alarmed if they do want to take the moles off anyway, it often happens. It's usually a relatively minor procedure if they do. Just pleased you went and got them checked out.
