Blood counts....

Hope everyone is well. Just a wee question???? Been on Dasatinib now 6 weeks. Firstly i was Anaemic then that sorted itself out. Last visit showed my WBC had gone up to 11.2% , platelets also went up a good bit. Now the doctor didnt seem overly concerned but i am. His first question was did i have an infection , which yes i did , i had a bad cold.He thought this was causing it.

Getting monitored weekly. Should i have any concerns about these counts or am i just being pesimistic???? I'm feeling ok , a wee tad tired.

Have a look at the trend Elaine. If you have an infection it is very likely your wbc will rise. You are getting monitored weekly so you will soon see. I do hope everything goes ok for you.
How are you feeling otherwise on Dasatinib ?

I'm doing ok . A bit tired but i'm putting that down to being on holiday and keeping up with a 12 year old!!! No seriously i am tired could sleep for Scotland. Lost a wee bit of weight too. Had bloods done yesterday but that was at GP so takes a couple of days to come back. But i shall be watching!!!

As for everything else related to Dasatinib i'm doing ok. Side effects are less ( no doubt about that ). No nausea , stomach cramps or bowel problems i had with Glivec. Fingers crossed eh.
