Well we are about to join you all in sept when my wife goes in for a bmt, her brother is a match and she seems fine about it all infact i think im worse than her but as we couldnt get dissatinib in Newcastle there are not a lot of options. Anyway just thought i had to tell someone cause the bottling up is beginning to get to me cheers and thankyou all for the information you have given on this site Paul.

i noticed your comment on another thread... BMT.. and was concerned that your post had not been at the top of the latest page. this means that some of us have missed it. i think it is important to stress that although your wife is finding it impossible to access dasatinib within the Newcastle area there are ways that you may be able to put pressure on the local health authority or PCT. if you feel it is worth trying to get access to Dasatinib then please post again on this thread. we may be able to help and advise you.
BMT:
i had a low intensity BMT at hammersmith hospital in october 2003. it is a procedure which is less risky and is proving to be very successful for almost all those who are within the study. read my diary on the home page for more details. dr. eduardo olaviarra and prof. charles craddock are about to have their study published .... i believe in september. i was under the impression that this form of transplant is also available in newcastle. i would recommend that you ask the consultant about it.
