letter to MP-regarding Dasatinib/Nilotinib NICE appraisal

I have just received a reply from my MP in which she states she is very supportive of the initiative to overcome the post-code lottery by cml patients. she says she is going to write to the DH expressing the concerns that i raised regarding uneven access to Dasatinib in England and Wales.

it is crucial that we all keep up the pressure so i urge those of you who have not already joined in with our campaign to write to your local MP -please feel free to use the template letter provided under the newswire section on the right of this page-

cml patients in at least 3 regions of England are having great difficulties and need help so that they do not have to face possible life threatening situations because they cannot access alternative therapy to Glivec.

if you do not know the name of your local MP the please use this link.

thank you to all that have already joined us in this campaign to get the best available therapy to all those who are in need throughout the UK no matter where they live.

Andy i know you are having difficulties and fighting your PCT as we speak. please email me privately (sandr1ne@aol.com) as i may be able to help further. there too many cml patients in this situation at the moment.
also please read david's post about the QC's opinion about English patients accessing dasatinib in scotland. it seems that it is entirely possible to do this.

Sandy - I have already emailed my MP (Nicholas Soames) and he has written to Alan Johnson raising these points and has promised a written response to me. Needless to say he is very supportive.
