Patient/ Carers meeting on Saturday 16th February 2008

This is the FIRST meeting of the Hammersmith Leukaemia Patient/Carer Support Group on Saturday 16th February 10am – 1pm. We hope that you will be able to attend.

This is a very informal meeting where you can just pop in to meet us. The purpose of this meeting is for Leukaemia patients and their Carers to meet up with others who know what it is like to live with Leukaemia.

As the group grows we will be having guest speakers. We hope to meet every two months and if there is demand we will meet every four weeks.

This is your group and we will very much tailor the group to the needs of those attending. Everyone is welcome even if you are not a patient at the Hammersmith & just in London for the weekend at the times we have our meetings or you attend hospitals outside of the Hammersmith.

This group will be run in collaboration with the Hammersmith Support Nurses and the support of the Hammersmith Team.

Refreshments will be provided. The date of the next meeting will be posted after we meet on the 16th February.

We hope to see many of you on the 16th February.

Elizabeth Rees & Carol Davies

Dear Carol and Elizabeth,
this is a really welcome news and i am really pleased that you have been able to set up a support group at hammersmith. i am sure there will be many people who will find this helpful.
i am disappointed that i will not be able to come to your first meeting as i have a previous commitment on that date but hopefully i will be able to attend at some point in the future.
best wishes,
Sandy

Elizabeth & Carol

Thank you so much for setting up this group and organising it in conjunction with staff at the Hammersmith and with their support. We live just a bit too far away to come but I wish the group all the very best for a successful future. Mutual support is a wonderful thing. Could I ask whether you would feel able to let us know here of anything that comes up in your meetings that might benefit others who cannot get to the meetings? Thanks again.

David
