sunshine remember the sun block

Just thought I'd say how lovely it is to have some warm sunny weather and to remind us cmlers to use sun block. I went out on wednesday to hang out the washing and to the shops forgetting how quickly the sun hits us and more so on the gleevic I soon realised when the back of my neck was burning. Today it is bright red, so I hope everyone is enjoying the good weather at present but this is just a reminder about the sun cream high factor Take care sue d

Ditto Sue

I was also doing the washing (Australia)
(not a hot day - just pleasant 25 degrees - overcast in part)
warm enough to wear a Tee Shirt.
Not summer in Australia of those 45 degree days.

Sat outside for only about 10 minutes and felt myself burning.

Yes - actually could see pink arms - amazing

So I agree you can get caught out very easily, so great reminder and do not forget the hat and sunnies.

I actually think my skin is getter paler - does anyone else feel the same

Hello Ladies
Never heard of this before, was on Glivec for 5 years, did not encounter ther problems you mention, mind, I have always been an outdoor person, country boy at heart, so I suppose I was more used to the weather, but nevertheless an interesting topic for discussion.
One thing I do remember, was that in 1998 when I was having and auto graft transplant thing, I could not resist the warm july London sunshine, and yes I did turn a bit pink in a couple of hours which caused a great deal of concern, as it was thought that the agressive chemo drugs had caused the pinkness, we all had a chuckle when I told the docs what had caused it. Still went brown tho'
I have always lived with the sunny weather, but never sun bathe as such, perhaps this is the answer.
Hope this helps
Keep smiling
Keith
