G-CSF

Does anyone have any experience with G-CSF and Dasatinib?

I was taken off Glivec because it wasn't working on the cancer [FISH 76% and PCR 30.1% after 1 year of treatment on Glivec] and my blood counts were way too low [WBC LT 2, Neuts LT 1, plts LT 50]

I was put on Dasatinib but am still only on 3/4 dose - I alternate days between 50mg & 100mg dose but my counts are dropping again and they are talking about putting me on G-CSF. I don't know what kind yet, I gather from doing google searches there is more than one.

Any input would be appreciated.

Keep well

Helen

Hi Helen,
sorry to hear of your struggles with Glivec and low counts...

GCSF has been used for many years to support low white cell counts... I am sure it will help you continue to take dasatinib at a more regular dose so that you can benefit from it and see a good reduction in PH+ cells.
I am not sure of the different sorts of this growth hormone but I would think that the NHS uses the same sort throughout the UK..

best wishes for a better response to dasatinib and please keep us updated.
