Hi Everyone

I got Dx on my birthday back on Christmas eve 2008, and started on Glivec early Jan at Dx i was 64%, and only had a slight reduction at the 3 month marker, then after a BMA at 6 month it was measured at 5.6%. I was in Clinic yesterday to be given my 9 month BCR/ABL results and now just in the Zero club at 0.3%. I,m so pleased and look forward to hearing the good news from now on :). I hope this inspires any newly Dx patients.
I am looking forward to meeting people from up and down the country at the seminar.

Fantastic news - do you get your number for the zero club now? I would love to know what mine is but the chances are its been stuck in the post again so I am not going to hold my breath!

Congrats Chris!

I am a little confused with what the zero club means and would be grateful if someone could enlighten me please.

I was dx in May this year and started off with 56.4%, after 3 months I was down to 0.086% does this mean that I am also in the zero club now? I am still waiting for my next PCR result (thanks to the postal strike) and will be happy to have it confirmed that it wasn't a mistake.

The criteria for getting into the Zero Club is to achieve CCR (Complete Cytogenic Response). This means 0/20 pH+ cells via a BMB (Bone Marrow Biopsy).
The equivalent result using a PCR test is 0.1% and 195/200 via a FISH test.

Many people believe that you have to be PCRU to get into the Zero Club, but that is not true. It turns out that if you can maintain CCR for several years your chances of relapsing with your CML are the same as if you were PCRU ot the 3 log reduction that is mentioned.

Lynn, yours is a remarkable response in such a short period of time.
