Evening Standard

Dear Jed..... just taken a look at the article which is hopefully ramping up the pressure.

I have also taken a look at the comments and I am quite surprised at some of the sentiments expressed there with some people taking the immediate 'default' of blaming 'other' groups and "life-style choices" for taking NHS money! This sort of knee-jerk reaction does not help anyone understand the issues of how we are to pay for a health system that gives the best available options for all citizens, no matter what their background or life-style.

Anyway... most comments are sympathetic and supportive. Well done again,

Added some comments of my own, but they're not showing up yet. Maybe they need approving first, or maybe the staff have gone home early.

I've added some too - maybe we all should?

I read with interest the comment someone made about human rights legislation. Are there any legal experts out there who think a 'no' desision could be challenged by an individual under the human rights act. Surely the 'right to life' is the most important right of all !!!!!!!!

Just added my own quick comment.

On a side note, I completely agree with your sentiment regarding the 'default' blames, Sandy. Incredibly frustrating to read such responses.
