Kate Spall- Exceptional Case Appeals.

I was recently contacted by Kate Spall who does fantastic work in helping and representing patients who need to use the exceptional case appeal process in order to get access to drugs on NHS.
she is aware of our current difficulties and has offered her services to anyone who needs them. She has given me her contact details and a brief overview of the work she does.

I will put all the details on the links page and on a direct link box as soon as I can.. meanwhile here are her details should anyone be encountering difficulties. I would add that if you think you will need either dasatinib or nilotinib in the near future Kate has advised that you should NOT wait for the FAD but start proceedings asap.

"I am writing to see if I can be of some support to your patients. I specialise in Exceptional Case Appeals for individual patients and am aware of the recent negative ACD for a desperately needed CML drug.

I was heavily involved in the kidney cancer drug campaign and managed to obtain the drug for 100 patients during the NICE consultation and negative ACD. Eventually NICE backed down and i now work with all cancers and am happy to take on cases. I have to date helped 250 patients access previously refused treatments including those that have a negative FAD - so it is not insurmountable - but of course seems it for patients that are put in this invidious position.

I do this work free of charge - so please feel free to direct patients to my website www.pamelanorthcottfund.org.uk

Best wishes and good luck with the campaign.

That's a really fantastic offer from Kate. I would urge anyone who thinks there's even a slight chance that they might need access to one of these drugs, to contact her. Don't leave anything to chance.

More great work by this site as well Sandy. Much appreciated.

Many thanks to Kate, for offering her experience and time to help us out in our hour of need and thanks to Sandy for posting the details on the website. Is it worth making a permanent link on the site, for those of us who may not need Kate's detail right now, but may do in the future?

Many thanks
Chris
