Sad News Loss of Yorkshire Region CML Support Group Member

I have been asked by Craig Bray, husband of Rebbeca, who are members of the Yorkshire Region CML Support Group to inform everyone that Rebbeca sadly passed away on 31/04/10 after a brave fight with cml. Becky was diagnosed last year in blast phase she had a cord blood transplant in November, which she actually got through ok, but due to other complications and infections she couldn't fight any more and did not even go home after the transplant. Rebbeca also leaves 2 children aged 5 and 3 years old. Our thoughts go out to Craig, Oliver and Francessca Sue d

Even though I come from Australia - my heart goes out to Craig and his children, Oliver and Francessca.

My sister-in-law passed over with ovarian cancer when she had just turned 36 years old leaving toddler twins and a 5 year old - both Mum and family just too young.

Thank you for sharing - even with great drugs 1st and 2nd generation - we take our "New Normal health" for granted.

I have been invited to be a Survivor Ambassador for Light the Night this year (Sept 17 2010) in my home City, I will take Rebeccas story as part of my speeches.

Hand over heart
Sue (Aussie)

Dear Sue,

Thank you for letting us know about Rebecca. Blast phase CML is a very difficult disease to conquer and I am so sorry that Rebecca was unable to overcome the post transplant complications. Please give my condolences to Craig and Rebecca's family. This remains such a cruel disease.
