New web site

Thanks for all the hard work to give CML support site a 'new look'.  Could I please put in a plea for people like myself who need larger print!

Is it possible to make the typeface on the home page a bit larger, particularly the menu on the side.  Not being very savvy with IT finding the forum link was a bit of a search.

May CMLsupport and all its members continue to florish and give advice, help and most importantly a friendly place for CMLers to find information.

Hi Pennie - are you using Internet Explorer to view the site?

if so look in the bottom righ hand corner and you will see a 100% sign  with an arrow next to, click on this and then you ca make your screen zoom in and the text will be bigger

more help here http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/Zoom-in-on-a-webpage

I am sure other browsers have the same functionality

also if you are running Windows 7 you can use the magnifier http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/Make-items-on-the-screen-appear-bigger-Magnifier  (same instructions for Vista as well ISTR)

I am probably being a complete numpty and missing the obvious but I blame the drugs, or perhaps it is the age!

Anyway on the old version of this site there used to be an option that allowed you to check out the recently updated posts, this was the option I used most because my memory is terrible and I can never remember what I have read and what I have not. I am finding it hard to identify the new updates as the only place I have found where it says new is when you actually read the post.

Otherwise the new look is great, thanks for all the hard work everyone's put into it

I use Firefox and it does not have this option as far as I can find.  Is it not possible to use a more eyesight friendly font size on the site?
This is a very small font in comparison to most of the 'zillion' sites I regularly access.  Surely it would be better to have a bigger font on access of CMLsupport rather than expect users to find a way, external to the site, to make it more user friendly.  Hope this is possible.

although that is really a work around for the intitially small fonts used..

I have found that 'CTRL' and '+' will increase text size on a web page, repeat as required. When finished 'CTRL' and '-' to down size.
Hope this works for you.
Irene

This kinda works. Problem is that it doesn't adjust the line length to accomodate the increase in font size, so you have to keep moving the page left/right in order to see the entire page.

Zavie

I have to adjust line length anyway but one can't have everything!

I have the same problem with the 'new posts' thing - I have to check all the dates on the posts to see when they were written and then try to work out when I last looked! The old site used to change colour when I'd loooked at a post, so I knew where I was. And now the dates come up in American style too on the page where you can read the posts. If I put the font size up to 125% on the thingy at the bottom right hand corner, then I dont have to move the page backwards and forwards, but the look of things isn't as friendly as it was on the old site. Sorry to whinge!! But this site means too much to me to see it risk losing people cos it's not user-friendly.....

Kestrel

I am finding the same as some others, its difficult to see what posts have been read & also the page doesnt fit the screen so well. I have to move the curser back & forth to read the pages.  The date of postings are hard to find as well. As the site has been re-vamped perhaps these teathing problems problems can be rectified? Not having a moan, just saying as I find it!
