Some of us CMLers seem to be plagued with teeth problems - please don't worry if your teeth are fine it just seems to be a minority of us who have problems - my teeth are weak, break easily and the usual remedies of crowns, root treatments etc only seem to hold things for a relatively short period of time before more problems emerge. To cut a long story short one crowned tooth is now beyond the point of repair and needs to come out - my dentist is suggesting dental implant to replace it - now I know these are expensive but the dentist has nothing to gain here - she is NHS and just refers me to someone. She thinks that a dental implant would give me a decent foundation to one side of my mouth and therefore act as a base to maybe do bridge work for other teeth round about which may need attention before too long. So it's more structural than cosmetic as such.
So the question - I'm sure I remember reading here or maybe on Jerry's US site some years ago that dental implants had not been that successful on CMLers I am off to see the implant guy this week and was wondering if anyone had any views or gone down this route?

Weird Question - dental implants....
Hi Annie
I had a dental implant 6 months prior to being dx with CML (2008). The only thing that hurt was the price, £1200. I have had absolutely no problem with it at all. It is a front tooth so I am really pleased. I had to use a small flipper denture for 3 months while the bone grew around the implant, but everything was quite normal. I just have normal 6 monthly checks and hygenist appointments, the dentist does X Ray the implant from time to time but OK for the past 3-4 years.
Good Luck
Tony
