I posted the petition- NICE?I don't think so!- to both Andrew Lansley and Earl Howe yesterday- guaranteed delivery for today.
I had both of them professionally printed and bound and it was worth it.... I am really pleased that it worked so well and that we have so much support. Thanks to everyone who helped get the signature numbers to such impressive levels- Take a look at the left hand menu for the map of signatures and see where our support comes from.
I will send the 'Be NICE to Cancer Patients' to the NICE appraisal committee next week... their meeting is on 9th of June and 6 of us - all CMLSg members - will attend as observers. Thanks to all for taking time to do this.
We will not be allowed to attend the second half of the meeting when the 'intolerant' appraisal is discussed. I am not too sure I understand the reason behind this but 'commercial sensitivity' is the reason I have been given. It seems that any party can request a closed meeting citing this.
I am not sure what we will do then... other than keep our fingers crossed that all the efforts made will pay off in our favour!
