First PCR test results

Got a call from my Onc today with these PCR numbers:

11/4: 93% (DX)
14/6: 17%
26/7: 3%

Onc was pleased and im having an extra glass of wine today :)

The Gleevec 400mg pr day seems to be working.
Would this be around 1.6 Log reduction?
This should an okay result after 3,5 months?

Teddy

Hi Teddy,
I would say this is an excellent response, worthy of several glasses of wine! As a comparison this is my history:-
DX 55%
3 months 14%
6 months 0.07%
9 months 0.034%
12 months 0.009%
15 months 0.006%
18 months 0.003%
21 months 0.006%
24 months 0.004%

Thanks David, that was a great idea, ill have another glass, just to celebrate. But just one more, since im starting work again tomorrow, and im delivering the kids at kindergarten.

It seems you have been having good results as well, i hope mine can creep down to your levels some day.
Are you on Glivec as well?

Hi,
Yes I'm on Glivec 400mg per day and the occasional wine for therapuetic purposes.

Good to hear your response has been so good on Glivec. Im hoping i can stay on Glivec too, as i have not had any major side effects so far. Some skin issues, fatigue and nausea, but nothing too bad.
The wine is indeed good for therapuetic purposes, i usually have a glass of red wine after dinner to help ease the soul.

I too get side effects, but nothing major. Good days and bad days. Fatigue is the main one, but I do plenty of excercise so maybe its a side effect from that?
My ultimate goal is to get off the tablets completely and go on the STIM trial and see if my remission holds.
Then there would be no excuse for feeling tired !

I have read that people use exercise for a way to help fight fatigue while on Gleevec.

As for the STIM trials, yes, that would indeed be something :)
