Our adult clinical haematology service supports patients with a wide variety of blood diseases. We treat patients from the local north west London area, across the UK and overseas. We see more than 700 new patients a year and have a full range of inpatient, day care and outpatient facilities. We provide services from the Catherine Lewis centre – our purpose built facility at Hammersmith Hospital. We also run clinics at Charing Cross and St Mary’s hospitals.
We treat patients with the following conditions:
- Malignant haematology. This includes all forms of disease affecting the bone marrow and lymph nodes including leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplasia and myeloproliferative diseases
- We are a national and international referral centre for chronic myeloid leukaemia and have international standing in myeloma and myeloproliferative diseases
- We also have a world-renowned stem cell transplant unit, specialising in stem cell transplantation for chronic and acute leukaemia, myeloma, lymphomas and solid tumours
- We were one of the first hospitals in Europe to perform an allogeneic stem cell transplant (from one person to another) and we maintain an excellent reputation in this technology
