Abdomen problems

Hello everyone hope you are all doing ok:)

I have been getting A few problems lately with pain in my abdomen area which sometimes goes into my shoulder (left side) and my back.
I've had an ultra sound which showed some gallstones, I was referred to a surgeon and have been today to see him. His opinion is that it's not the stones as my pain is all on the left and usually people with gallstones experience pain on the right hand side. After an examination his opinion is that is coming from my spleen / stomach area. So now I'm having to go for a gastro.....( I can't spell it but it's the camera into my stomach, ha ha!!)
I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any of these problems?
Take care

Hi Alison, has your haematologist (rather than GP/other clinical expert) given a view on this pain? If it is to do with your spleen then you would need to review how your are responding to your current TKI therapy.

Sandy

Hi sandy.
I have informed Manchester and my local hospital about what's going on and they have just " made a note of it"
I'm appalled if I'm honest as the symptoms I'm experiencing are very similar to what I felt at diagnosis!
Alison

Alison,

what were your last results. This must be quite worrying for you and all I can advise is that you do not accept the 'made a note..." etc. You need to be proactive here and ask for an urgent consultation. Manchester are usually pretty good- is there a support nurse you can contact?
maybe you need to bring forward your appt. urgently? It might well be to do with another condition but as the spleen is an organ that is relevant to the symptoms of CML then I think it worth you pushing for reassurance.

Do not take a brush off.

Sandy

Thanks sandy:)

My last results were 0.14%

Manchester are usually fine, I find I am doing the chasing all the time, especially since the old research nurse left who I really liked.
I will ring my local haematologist tomorrow and ask for my appointment to be brought forward.
I try not to worry and I'm usually upbeat about things but lately I'm slowly loosing patience with my doctors....
