Very interesting article.
Yes very interesting article and thanks for the link. There are a few misleading statements though, so just to reassure those who might be worried....
The article says:
'The estimated prevalence of CML in the United States is 70,000 persons with the disease, projected to steadily increase to approximately 181,000 by 2050.'
This gives the impression that CML is on the rise! But when talking of an increase in 'prevalence' of CML, this is true only because we (patients) are living with CML rather than dying from it...
the 'incidence' of CML (i.e numbers diagnosed each year) is not increasing.
I would also take issue with the author's statement that CML is 'often' diagnosed in its later stages - ie blast crisis- of course this does happen but not that 'often'. Most are diagnosed in chronic stage.
Best.... Sandy
dear and respected doctor, i am enclosing an email from dr prabhu from the The Pennsylvania
State University who has proven in the lab that fish oil extracts can cure CML.He needs
assistance and support for clinical trials.please do give your kind advice..regards, cdr n
sharavana gowda, CML patient in India
Dear Cdr. Gowda,
Sorry to read about the side effects. I am not very sure how Vit D would impact CML. please
check with your oncologist.
Our studies in humans with fish oil ( EPA extract) for CML is set to begin, but paucity of
funds to carry out such studies seem to be the major road block. We are hopeful, however.
