Hello,
I want to share some happy news. I have achieved a Major Molecular response.
Latest PCR results 0.05. Finally below the 0.1 and almost exactly a 3 log reduction.
Have been waiting 2 and a half years. So pleased!
You are here
Major Molecular Response
Dear Kate... wonderful to hear this. According to the International Scale you are virtually at MR4 (0.01%)
On the international scale (IS) an RT Q-PCR test result of:
0.1% BCR-ABL = MR 3 (3 log reduction from 100% - IRIS)
0.01% BCR-ABL = MR 4
0.0032% BCR-ABL = MR 4.5
0.001% BCR-ABL = MR 5
Which lab are your samples sent to for PCR testing?
Well done,
Sandy
Hi Sandy,
My samples are tested at my local hospital in Sydney, Australia using the International Scale (a recent development as they used to get sent to Adelaide.)
It's great that I am nearly at MR4.
The reason I mentioned 3 log reduction was that my first PCR result was around 50% and I am now at 0.05. I think this may be an old fashioned way at looking at response rates now?
Anyway the more zeros the better and I'm just happy to have finally got below 0.1 on the IS.
Yippee!
