I'm curious to know if the time it takes to get pcr/cytogenetic/mutational analysis results is roughly the same in all hospitals. I am being treated in York but the PCR is done in Leeds. Every time it takes at least 3 weeks, that can be quite a long and anxious time. I was told this is
because they wait to have enough samples to run at the same time. If this is the case, bigger hospitals, with more CML cases, should be able to run the PCR machines at full capacity more often and have the results more quickly. True or false?
Cheers
