Hi Thomas,
CX5461 is being studied for its potential in treating aggressive haematological malignancies - i.e. AML and Multiple Myeloma. Both of which are entirely different diseases to CML and therefore completely different outcomes.

If this drug pans out to be effective in these diseases it will be a huge breakthrough. However, the drug is only just entering human phase 1 trials in patients whose disease is refractory to chemotherapy so it will be some time before any significant data is published. Hopefully phase 1 trials will prove the drug to be effective.
