Cholesterol

What information, if any, do we have to support muted "evidence" that TKI's increase the level of Cholesterol? Also, I have seen a posting from the US suggesting that Sprycel increases the absorption of any treatments given to lower Cholesterol.
Any thoughts?

My experience with the statin Lipator and Glivec, was that the statin appeared to hang around in the liver for longer. My cholesterol went into the low end 3.1
I had gone down to the lowest level of statin.

Gleevec raises the level of statins in the blood. Patients who take statins with Gleevec need to be very cautious, as very serious side effects such as muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis) may result from excess statins. Statin dose should be reduced when taking Gleevec. Discuss this with your pharmacist and doctors.
