Imperial College and the Royal College of Art have recently set up a new design team called the HELIX Centre, based inside St. Mary’s Hospital, London. (St Mary’s is where Alexander Fleming discovered Penicillin in 1928). Their aims include working with health staff and patients to improve healthcare services.
The HELIX team are currently working on a new project to improve the way patients needing treatment over long periods of time interact with large urban hospitals. To do this they are focussing on the experiences of cancer patients.
They are asking people who have been or continue to be treated for any type of cancer to share their thoughts and experiences with them.
