Decision time

To Sandy and Darley

Many thanks for your replies. When I made the decision to stop dasatinib I asked my doctor what TK I would be put on should my counts start to go up.  I was surprised when he informed me that all TK's can have PE as a side effect, and that it would have to be looked at very closely should the time come.  This was the reason I was hoping that if anyone has had the same problem as me, what TK was recommended and most importantly, did it keep the PE at bay.

Hi Judith,

I am rather alarmed that your doctor has not given you another TKI to keep your CML under control. Where are you being 'treated' ?? There is no doubt that your bcr/abl counts will start to rise without TKi therapy... and I disagree with your clinician that all TKIs can cause PE. This is a less common side effect of dasatinib and if it does not resolve then patients should be given an alternative. I am sorry if I have misunderstood you, but if not then I am really astounded at the lack of 'care' your doctor is giving you.
