Bosutinib and fasting

Categories:

I am very interested in the fasting aspect of treatment.

However, Bosutinib is supposed to be taken with food...what should be done in this case?

What you might do is take your Bosutinib with 1/2 avocado.

Avocado is mostly plant fat and should help "mimic" fasting.

Or you could take it without food for a few days and it probably wouldn't cause any problems.

Here's a quote from a review article about bosutinib:

"The effect of food was studied among 55
healthy subjects randomly assigned to receive
bosutinib 200, 400, 600, or 800 mg with food or
200 or 400 mg without food, or placebo [19].
Significant increase in bosutinib exposure was
observed for maximum serum concentration
(Cmax), and area under the curve (AUC)
increased by 1.6–1.7-fold when taken with
food, the effect being more evident at lower
doses. The interaction, resulting in increased
drug exposure, was explained by an increase in
bosutinib solubility when taken with food [19]."
