turmeric not advised with dasatinib

hello, i've read a number of posts here about turmeric and dasatinib and what i've read seems positive, especially scuba's posts.  i went to see dr mauro (cml specialist) for a consultation in september and here is what his office recently told me about turmeric/circumin use with dasatinib:  "Dasatinib is a major substrate of CYP3A4, and turmeric inhibits CYP3A4, altering the metabolism of dasatinib.  This can lead to increased toxicity from dasatinib, therefore we would prefer our patients to not take turmeric while taking dasatinib."

i'm kind of freaked out now as i have been taking the turmeric since march 2019.  i was diagnosed in december of 2018, prescribed 100mg of dasatinib since 12/26/18.  my latest pcr/abl test showed 0.01%, down from 53% at diagnosis.  here's the full info:

53% at diagnosis 12/18
8% at 3/19
.08% at 6/19
.01% at 9/19

i have to admit that i've been cutting my tablets in half, and so have basically been taking 50mg dasatinib for about 2 months now, due to bad nausea when taking the 100mg (even with food and plenty of water).  some days when my stomach feels okay, i do take the whole 100mg, but mostly it's been 50mg for about 2 months.  i've seen the posts where 50mg was tried and prescribed for new patients, and may be the new standard dose for newly diagnosed patients.

i'm thinking that the turmeric/circumin is working in tandem with the dasatinib and that's why my pcr/abl has gotten so low after 9 months.  i'm wondering if anyone else has been advised not to take the turmeric/circumin or if anyone has any thoughts on this.  thanks for any comments!

Just a thought, but maybe your stomach issues are due to the turmeric supplement?

Just ask to SCUBA .he will give you solution with the science.

Supplements are notorious for not being regulated - there could be other things in the capsule.  I'm well aware of Scuba's advocacy of it.  It has not been put to a good study, unfortunately, and therefore it is not part of accepted practice yet.  And what was written in the earlier post is science, too.  Dr. Mauro is an extremely well-respected CML specialist and researcher.
