TKIs and supporting vitamins

All,

What additional vitamins are you taking along with your TKIs and why?  All I've seen is Vitamin D and Magnesium.  What about green tea?  I keep reading conflicting info.

Thanks,

Jon

Hey,

My specialist said don’t bother, if you get a proper balanced diet you’ll get it all from food.

I’ve seen a long list on this site over the last couple of years.

Circumin (Tumeric)

Magnesium

VitD, VitB, VitC, VitK

Selenium (found in Brazil nuts)

there is a long list....

Rather than take vits I’ve changed up my diet to have lots of fruit and veg, less red meat simply from a gut point of view. More chicken and fish. I eat a lot of nuts. I’ve only been on my new diet for a couple of months and already have more energy, I was getting kicked in the butt with fatigue. Not anymore.

Alex

Alex, thanks for the info.  I've really only cut out red meat and alcohol right now from the diet.  I've also been doing smoothie way more to make sure I'm getting the good stuff my body needs.

No probs Jon.

I’ve only recently cut out red meat because I used to eat a lot of it and from a digestion point of view it’s hard on the stomach and I know TKIs are tough on the gut so I wanna help my body as much as possible.

I’ve been having a smoothie in the morning which consists of a Banana, Blueberries, Raspberries, Spinach, Greek Yogurt, x1 Actimel, Scoop of peanut butter for protein as I lift weights, a handful of cashews and x4 Brazil nuts. I’ve been doing this for a couple of months now.

My energy and my stomach has been so much better. I cut out alcohol completely until about 8 months into treatment. I am 20 months in now and have the occasional drink but I don’t get drunk anymore as TKIs are synthesised in the Liver lol. But I plan to over Xmas.
