Arthritis-like symptoms

Categories:

Hey,

Does anyone else suffer from arthritis-like symptoms? I'm relatively fit and young, so I'm concerned I could be showing early signs of arthritis.

Assuming it's related to my CML, it was one of the first and most problematic manifestations and I still experience it most days.

I've had continuous knee trouble for a year or two: pain, locking, giving way and so on. They're often also red, hot to touch and swollen.

My elbows and ankles are better, but creaking and often painful too.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? What can be done? Should I be seeking a referral for arthritis or is it a par-for-the-course part of CML?

Regards,

Chris

Yeah this is on the top of the Symptoms for TKI not CML list I am afraid, joint, muscle and bone pain are very very common along with fatigue being another big one.

I get very achy joints at times and noticeable in the neck area, shoulder blades (only the right one), balls and shins of my feet sometimes left forearm, my elbow joints are tender to touch but they don’t hurt.

Sometimes I feel nothing and other times I feel more. You learn to deal with it, it’s a pain no pun intended but a good sign meds are well in their doing what they do to some degree I guess.

I do find a hot bath with Dr Salts daily fixes a lot of those issues.

I would do anything to feel how I felt before diagnosis, not a ailment in sight.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not certain it is TKI-related in my case because I had the issue before treatment, indeed I had it for about a year before diagnosis. At times, my knees are so bad I can barely walk. I attributed it to cycling when it began, but I've since assumed it's CML-related. I feel your pain, I've not long turned 30 and sometimes I feel as if I'm trapped in the body of a 60/70-year-old.
