Just another COVID experience.

On Sept. 22 I went to the ER because of a possible kidney problem, and trouble getting enough oxygen.

They told me that I tested positive for COVID while shuttling me along towards a pacemaker ...
Knock me over with a feather; I had only gone maskless one time for about 15 minutes while having my hair washed because due to lack of breath, I couldn't do it myself anymore.  Turns out my heart rate was bumping along at 24, on its way to 22.  Seemed to draw a lot of foot traffic from the doctors and nurses all looking at the numbers on my monitors, apparently it doesn't happen too often.

Regarding COVID I had absolutely no symptoms when I entered the ER, three days later after being treated with two of the COVID drugs I developed mild congestion .. took a few days to clear.  They want me to quarantine until Oct. 12 as they can't reliably test. to see if I no longer have it.  Think that had someone to do with my oxygen level.  I don't feel any symptoms at this time.

Life is good.

Thanks for asking David; Im feeling exponentially better every day.

Still have some work to do to get out of the woods, so to speak, but I'm hugely optimistic.

My pacemaker is keeping me around 60bpm

They sent a large oxygen compressor/concentrator system to my home, and so breathing is easy,
and it's helping with the rehab.

That’s great - I’m pleased to hear you are on the up! Hope you get back to full-speed soon.

David.

Thank you David. ... Kaiser has now apparently determined that constantly balancing blood sugar makes medications more effective and so everyone gets finger sticks 3-4 times a day.  Found myself dreading the next finger stick and am now wondering what all I can do to lower my blood sugar prior to my annual physical blood tests next Wednesday morning.  I'll probably skip dinner the night before.   Of course in the hospital I skipped breakfast, which meant I hadn't eaten since 6:00pm the prior evening, and still received insulin.  PS: they said the medications also cause the blood sugar to be erratic.

In a follow-up call statusing COVID, I was told to take Vitamin C twice a day, and Vitamin D twice a day, but when I told him that I was taking a 2,000iu Vitamin D, he said that was enough.
