Having technical issues with the CML Support site? Please get in touch.

I have had a few reports of user sign-up process not working for some people, and other small issues like subscribed topics not sending an email to people subscribed to it.

It’s quite hard to track down the root cause of some of these problems, as they work most but not all.

If you have any tech issues, even small ones, on the site recently please let me know in this post.

If you have recently registered, but are having trouble logging in please use the contact for here, and select “Technical / log-in issues” in the Category field.

We are hopefully going to be able to migrate from this older, creaking platform we currently use to manage CML Support in the future.

Thanks,
David.

Hello David,

As per our previous discussion I am still not receiving notifications by email of replies or additions to forum subjects that I am subscribed to.

For example the two replies I have had to my TFR insurance question did not generate information emails.

Thanks.

Hi David,

So I just got an email alert to tell me this thread has been updated, so clearly the functionality is working in general. Just not for you, for some reason!

Can you open your profile on this site. You should get to it through the menus, or by going here: https://cmlsupport.org.uk/user

From there, double check your email is correct. If it is, check your spam folder, just in case. On the same page, make sure “ Receive content follow-up notification e-mails” is active.

If all that is OK, open a post you expect to see email updates on and at the very bottom make sure the button says “Unsubscribe from updates” (indicating that updates are currently on).

Edit: immediately after posting this message, I can see in our logs that an email was successfully sent to you, so it appears the message is getting sent out at this end.

David.

Hello David,

Thanks for your help on this.

I have done everything you suggest (twice!) sadly I am still not receiving any mail from the site, even to my junk box.

It’s very strange as it worked perfectly previously.

Is it the intention to continue this most useful and wonderful site? I notice that facebook now has several CML “links”. Personally I find facebook difficult to use for this purpose. It’s rather impersonal, and is very international. It’s good to be able to see and know UK reactions and posts, which seems tricky on facebook-although sometimes it’s very obvious when “posters” are overseas.

It’s also an advantage, I feel, to be able to know and recognise contributors which is entirely possible on this site, but not so much on facebook.

In any event if it’s possible to “reboot” my details on this site, I should love to be able to receive notifications again!

Best wishes,

David

Hi David,

We use both this site and Facebook for patient engagement. Some people prefer one, or the other and that’s fine and up to them!

This web site does need an overhaul, and we are currently seeking funding for this.

In terms of rebooting your details, I am not sure what I can do. If I delete your profile, and set it up again the same thing will happen. As far as our system is concerned, it has sent the email notification to you.

You could try the “forgot password” option at login. That should trigger an email to you, and it would be interesting to see the result of that.

But in the end, with luck we will get funding and a more modern platform in time.

David.
