Involuntary TFR attempt - update after 42 months

Categories:

Hi everyone

I hope everyone is doing well and moving onwards to full recovery steadily. This is just my latest update about my attempt at stopping treatment. For those who don't know my story, I developed serious complications from imatinib around four years after starting the treatment and had to attempt TFR, despite missing all the milestones and being told I would never be able to try it voluntarily.

My latest BCR-Abl test has come in at <0.003%, which remains a 4.5 log reduction. It has now been 1 296 days since I last took imatinib and the CML still seems well controlled.

Once again, I'm sharing to provide hope to those who have slow responses or suboptimal results on the TKIs, as well as just to provide data for people like Buzz who track statistics on TFR.

All the best to everyone on this group!

Warm regards from a rainy South Africa
