SECURITY MEASURES ON FLIGHTS - TAKING MEDICATION ON BOARD

Has anyone come up against the issue of taking medication on flights since the new security measures were implemented last week.
I know things have eased a little now, but wonder what other's may have experienced as were flying in about two weeks time.
My concern was the statement 'enough medication may be taken into the cabin as required for the period of the flight'
On most short haul flights, that's going to mean Glivec ends up in the case in the hold !!!
We must all have experienced (or know of someone who has experienced) loss of luggage - so imagine the scenario, you pack your Glivec in the case, arrive at your destination and your case is somewhere else in the world - what do you do.
There must be many people who have to take vital medicines with them on holiday, and the advice has always been take all your medication into the cabin in hand luggage so that if your baggage gets mislaid, at least your medication is safe.
