I am a 37 yo male who was diagnosed with CML in late march of this year. I started Gleevec 400 mg a day in April. After 3 months my FISH test went from 98.8 % to 16.8%. My MD said this was a "nice response", He also said that if I was not FISH negative at 6 months he would switch me to dasatnib. I thnik I was really stunned, How did I go from a "nice response" to a second line of treatment in one short visit? I attempted to look all over the internet to see how my results compared to others and I could not find anything that list a certain percentage of the CML patients are FISH --% at 3 months or 6 months. My next test is in October and I feel like I am even more concerned about this test. Anyone out there with some suggestions?
Thanx BLT
