Hi everyone
I just got back from my first CML National Seminar in Manchester, where I met some great people and heard a lot about Glivec and the new drugs (nilotinib and dasatinib).
I am currently a couple of years down the line on Glivec and have had to increase my dose to 600mg back in Feb, due to my PCR starting to increase, following an initially good response. My latest PCR (0.159) is a slight improvement on the previous one, but I am being told that I may becoming resistant to Glivec and if the trend doesn't improve, I may be looking at a transplant.
Following the seminar however, there seem to be new alternatives to transplant and I am now researching the suitability and availability of these new drugs. I am also interested to learn more about complimentary therapies such as ReikI, however.
Has anyone had any positive or negative experience of these type of natural therapies on their PCR results?
Looking forward to your comments.
All the best
Chris
