Doctor friends of ours from Australia have sent us a press cutting dated June 2006 from The Australian, a newspaper. It is a business news article about the share price of an Aussie drug company called Chemgenex. It seems it is hoping to apply for FDA approval in mid-2007 for its CML drug called Ceflatonin. It is said to be effective for patients who fail on Glivec. I don't think I've seen it mentioned in the Forum, so I thought I'd post to see if anyone knows anything about it.
A quick bit of research on the web shows that it is administered by injection (not orally), so it may not be a preferred option to Sprycel simply for that reason. There also seems to be a trial going on of a combination therapy of Ceflatonin and Glivec. It also appears (at least from a very short web based article)that it might be effective for AML patients too.
