Discussion Forum Topic threads

We appear to have lost the threads on our Discussion Forum topics. We have the original post for the topic but not the contributions that then make up the thread. The reason for this is almost certainly a key mistroke. Everyday David, the Forum Moderator, examines all posts to the Forum that have an "Anonymous" tag. These are posts made by those who have not become Forum members and are almost entirely posts for Viagra, on-line gambling and other types of direct sell products. These total about 20 posts per day and also occasionally contain patient posts which once vetted are let though the hidden Forum gate keeping device. It appears he may have miskeyed that today thus removing both the selected anonymous posts and in addition all other contributions to Forum threads. We have spoken to our website maintenance company and they are going to trawl the database to see if these missing posts can be retrieved but this will take some time as it's a complex process once the threads have been removed. In the meantime please continue to contribute since we are certain there is no software error that prevents this or them from appearing in the thread like state.

Thanks Sandy, I came back from holiday and thought the site looked weird - wondered why no-one was speaking any more! The current threads look OK but it would be good to have the old ones back too. Best wishes, Kestrel

fingers crossed that we will be able to reinstate all the topic threads. however as i said above this may take some time!

Hello,

I´m from spain, and I am new to this group. I was hoping to get as much information as possible regarding pregnancy and cml.

I am 32 and was diagnosed in july 2002. My PCR result is very good since I started with Gleevec in (february 03). I continue taking it and I´m just perfect.
My hunsband and I want to have children but as you all know, this is not "reccomended" by doctors.
I would really appreciate if you could send some information about this.
Thank you very much in advance. I´m so happy I´ve found this forum!
Best regards,
Maria.

Hi Maria
I am also 32, diagnosed in Jan 05. I have just (today!) stopped taking Glivec and as of tomorrow, I will begin on Interferon, (which is safe to take during pregnancy) in preparation for hopefully falling pregnant. I will be updating with my progress if there is any good news to report! I would advise that you speak with your doctors about this, as it is possible, and my consultants are quite positive. I am expecting some loss of control (with my results) but my consultants are happy for me to proceed. It means I will be having more regular blood tests, but I feel that it is worth a try.
Good luck xx
Anna

hi maria and anna, there a quite a few people who have managed pregnancy with low dose peg IFN. sharon- a member of this site living in germany- recently updated her experience. her little girl is around 8 or 9 months old now and sharon is very happy. it seems that more doctors are recommending this way of controling cml without glivec so that you can get pregnant. you can also manage the disease with leucopherisis which is a way of controling the white count.
due to a technical hitch with this forum (see my post above) we have lost quite a few of the topic strings including a recent one about pregnancy. hopefully we will be able to get them back when our technical guy is able to make time to try to fix this.

best wishes to you both, and i am glad you have found us maria ;o)

Dear Anna & Sandy,
Thank you so much for your messages. I indeed knew about some women how had children, after leaving Gleevec and taking Interferon during pregnancy. My doctor told me this in march 06, but still said it was better to wait a little bit more, till there´s more information about it. With this experiences, and with yours, it seems to be possible for me to follow the same way. I guess everything depends on my next tests in february (which I´m sure will be good as always are).
I cross my fingers for you Anna, and wish you the best. Keep updating with your progress!
Sandy, I look forward to see those messages that were lost, I hope the technical guy fix it soon.
Thank you again.
Best regards,
Maria
