Hi everyone, I havent posted for a while. I had the results of my pcr able test today and although I am still in cyto remmision the number has risen and the consultant scared me a bit as started talking about higher doseage (currently on 400mg daily glivec) or the posssibility of a new drug that is available from Jan (still in trial at moment) what is this drug? I am going to have a bone marrow biopsy next week, and they have repeated pcr able today.

I think the new drug mentioned may be Dasatinib [Sprycel]. My consultant said at my last visit that it has been licensed for general use [as opposed to clinical trial] from January.
Best of luck with everything - I was only diagnosed in September so have a long way to go yet. My 3 monthly bone marrow is due any day now so I am hoping it will show that glivec is working for me.

it will probably be sprycel... but it is going to be quite expensive so will have to go through a NICE assessment before it gets funding through the NHS!
