Finally, 14 months post diagnosis I have had my first PCR test and result which is 0.03. My doc sez this is a Major molecular remission and i was entirely shocked at what he said and more or less kept repeating the Major molecular remission bit, WHAT DOES IT MEAN. can sombody spell it out for me? thanx

PCR RESULT
Hi Suzie,
Technically it means that you have achieved a 3 log reduction in your leukemia via a PCR test. This means that the amount of CML that you have in your body is 1,000 times less than when you were diagnosed.
There are still some CML cells in your body, but the really good news is that if you stay at this level of remission there is very little chance that you will relapse with your leukemia and virtually no chance that you will die from CML.
